Mr. D. Saravanan

Trustee

D. Saravanan was trained under the eminent senior lawyer Sri.K.T.Palpandian. He has been practicing in the Chartered High Court of Judicature at Madras in various fields like, Civil (Original & Appellate Side), Criminal (Limited Area), Constitution, Labour & Service, Insurance, Banking, Consumer, Rent Control Laws, Accident Claims, Arbitration & IPR. 

 Considerable cases, in which he appeared as counsel, were reported in leading Regional Law Journals. 

He has appeared as lead and co-counsel in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings concerning the disputes relating to construction, joint ventures, financial services, international trade, employment disputes, property, maritime, shipbuilding, franchises, investment, on and Offshore contracts, securities and general contractual matters. 

D.Saravanan is a senior partner in a law firm under the name and style of “PASS Associates”, having office at Unit No.208, 2nd Floor, Beta Wing, Raheja Towers, Nos.113-134, Anna Salai, Chennai 600002, India which practices in diversified fields of law.

Mr. Gajapathy Ashokapathy

With the experience of more than 25 years in the Bar, Ashokapathy is a versatile litigator specializing in the field of Arbitration, Tax and Property disputes.  As a young lawyer he joined the offices of Mr. S.D.Ramalingam where he worked for a year and then went on to join the offices of Mr.V.Ramachandran.

 It is here that he developed his interest in tax litigation. After a few years of practice under the guidance of Mr.V.Ramachandran, he worked with his father Mr.V.Gajapathy and went on to establish his own practice thereon. In 2004, Ashokapathy co-founded the first Arbitration Centre in Tamil Nadu, The Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration. He authored a book “Supreme Court on The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996”. His work in the field of arbitration is well recognized and has brought to light CNICA as one of the leading centers for financial arbitration. Ashokapathy has not just dealt with arbitration disputes as a counsel but also as an arbitrator. In 2008, along with his two partners founded the law firm PASS Associates and they have had a successful practice as a firm.

Mr. D. Anand

Trustee

With degrees in Sociology, Political Science and Law, from the University of Madras, Mr.D. Anand brings a holistic view to his legal practice both as an advocate and arbitrator. A well Know practising Advocate in Direct Taxes, he appears frequently at both the High Court of Judicature at Madras as well as Income Tax Appellate Tribunals. He was elected in succession as the Secretary and Treasurer at the prestigious Revenue Bar Association where he plays a pivotal role in its activities.

A vocal advocate for promoting arbitration and other forms of alternate disputes resolution, he was invited to join the Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration as its Secretary. He is routinely appointed as an arbitrator and is a member in organisations such as Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration (CNICA), Chennai ,IndusInd Bank Ltd., Chennai and, Asian Institute of Alternate Dispute Resolution, Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia. He has been appointed as arbitrator in various adhoc arbitrations and by non-banking financial companies, financial institutions, Construction Companies, IT companies, service industries, private companies, individuals, etc., and has decided more than 2000 disputes since, 2010. He is a Certified Mediator by India Institute of Corporate Affairs under the Aegis of Ministry Of Corporate Affairs, Government of India and has facilitated the settlement of disputes concerning commercial, matrimonial matters etc., He is a familiar face at several prominent national conferences and is often asked to share his wisdom at such gatherings. When not practicing law, he can be found mentoring students and imparting his wisdom to students and juniors on the finer aspects of the law and engaging them on matters such as ethics and jurisprudence.
